Frida was created in collaboration with Hungarian National Dance Theatre.

Frida is a work about the life and art of the Mexican painter Frida Kahlo and transports the audience on an exotic journey to a dream world where music, visual arts and dance come together. As in a guided tour, dance and images of the works show the beauty and challenges of Frida’s life as a unique woman and artist of her time and express the passionate nature of her inner life. They show a deep inner world and culture, create a festive atmosphere and describe her personal life in a few remarkable moments. What is shown is not the life of Frida Kahlo, but a theatrical vision of a sensitive and colourful world, inspired by the artist’s life journey. Frida is a world-renowned artist, and this work allows those who love her to see her art and life in a new perspective. Many have been inspired by her work, her struggles for fair treatment, her visions and her tenacity. The show, with a contemporary point of view, immerses us in the depths of Mexico, in Frida’s homeland, with its surprises and revelations, putting a new face on the emotions and passions that marked her life.
