Starting with Stravinsky’s work, Dewey Dell investigates the concept of death, which in every metamorphosis and great change of the human being is always alongside life, manifesting itself as a rite of passage or inner revolution. In the animal and plant world, the co-presence of life and death becomes even more literal, especially in the world of insects, seeds and moulds where it is an expanded presence: death is an invitation to life. A reflection on how the cyclical regeneration of the seasons and the fertility of the earth are not a linear path, but the upheaval of all the elements, and how spring is the period of maximum upheaval, when the terror of existence merges with the dizzying joy of being.
