17th Edition of the International Prize: the call 2026 is online
The 2026 edition of the Prospettiva Danza Teatro International Prize, conceived and directed by Laura Pulin as part of the Prospettiva Danza Teatro festival in Padua, is now accepting applications.
Now in its seventeenth edition, the competition represents an important opportunity for young artists to present their work to a jury of proven international experience composed of choreographers, artistic directors, theater directors, and industry professionals. Choreographers aged between 18 and 45 at the time of registration are eligible to participate. Participants may submit creations that have already been presented to the public in the form of a study or work in progress, and the winning project will debut in its entirety – and in preview for the Veneto region – during the 2027 edition of the Festival (minimum duration 40 minutes).
Once again this year, the Prospettiva Danza Teatro International Prize offers candidates the opportunity to perform live during the pre-selection phase in front of a committee made up of the artistic direction and experts in the field for a fruitful discussion aimed at further exploring the work presented. The venue chosen for the 2026 edition is Milan, at the rehearsal hall of the Paolo Grassi Civic Theater School, in collaboration with the Corso Danzatore.
The Award is promoted and organized by the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Padua in collaboration with the Arteven Regional Multidisciplinary Circuit, with the contribution of the Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo Foundation. Those selected for the final round of the Award will present their choreographic creations to an international jury on May 9 and 10, 2026, at the Teatro Comunale G. Verdi in Padua. The winner will receive a prize of €5,000, a week’s choreographic residency in Padua, a performance during the Prospettiva Danza Teatro 2027 Festival as a preview for the Veneto region, for which a fee of €800 is provided, and a week’s choreographic residency at Scenario Pubblico in Catania – Center of National Interest for Dance.
